TAY’S TAILS – Terms and Conditions

TAY’S TAILS – Terms and Conditions

  1. Acceptance of Terms
By signing the contract, clients agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined here.

  2. Booking Confirmation
Tay’s Tails will not confirm any booking until a consultation with the client has been completed, and the contract containing the client's specific requirements has been signed.

  3. Payment Terms
Full payment for services, as agreed at the time of booking or afterward, must be made by the 1st of each month, or by the date specified on the invoice (for dog walking clients). Payment can be made via cash or bank transfer. A 2.5% late fee will be applied for each day payment is overdue.

  4. Client Responsibility
Clients must provide all necessary items for their pets' care (e.g., food, medication, collars, leads, tags, cat litter, etc.). If additional supplies are required while in the care of Tays Tails, they will be purchased and added to the bill.

  5. Liability
Tay’s Tails is not liable for any issues arising from undisclosed information or omissions by the client.

  6. Emergency Contact
Clients must provide the name and contact information of someone who can make decisions regarding the pet(s) in case of an emergency. If this contact is unavailable, Tay’s Tails reserves the right to consult a veterinarian and take necessary actions for the pet's well-being.

  7. Pet Care and Safety
Tay’s Tails will care for your pet to the best of its ability, but cannot be held responsible for any loss, injury, or death of a pet, either inside or outside the home, while in our care.

  8. Key Safety
Tay’s Tails will store client keys securely, with a pet name label. Tay’s Tails' insurance covers the loss of keys.

Cancellation Policy

  1. Walks

Cancellations for walks scheduled one week or more in advance require one month's notice.

Cancellations for walks scheduled for one or two days require one week's notice.

Failure to provide notice may result in the slot being offered to someone else, and same-day cancellations will incur a £5 fee.

A 50% charge will apply to hold your pet’s place during times when you are home but do not require a dog walk (e.g., time off work, summer holidays if not working).

  2. Dog Requirements
All dogs must be fully vaccinated and on a regular flea and worm control program, with a valid identification tag. Female dogs in season will be required to be booked in for a solo walk for the duration of their season.

  3. Trial Period
New dogs must undergo a trial period to ensure they are adequately trained and socialized.

  4. Walk Cancellation
Tays Tails reserves the right to cancel the contract if a dog does not respond well to the walker or other dogs.

  5. Leash Policy
All dogs will be walked on a lead unless prior written consent has been given by Tay’s Tails and a disclaimer form is signed.

  6. Walk Duration
Walks may be shortened due to extreme weather conditions (e.g., heat, thunderstorms) for the safety of both the dogs and the walker.

Home Visits Cancellation

  1. Cancellations must be made more than 48 hours in advance, or the full rate will be charged.

  2. While Tay’s Tails will take necessary precautions to ensure your home is secure, we cannot be held responsible for any burglaries or accidents caused by your pet(s).

  1. Clients must provide all necessary items for the care of their pets during home visits.

Inclement Weather

  1. In the event of extreme weather, the walker may cancel, or delay walks if deemed unsafe.

  2. If visits are not essential or the client decides to stay home, please inform Tay’s Tails to prioritize other clients. Full charges will still apply for same-day cancellations.

  3. If weather conditions prevent access to the home, services may not be provided, and the client will be notified.

  4. Any additional travel time due to road conditions will be included in the walk time if necessary.

  5. Walks may be shortened to allow time to clean dogs before returning them home. However, clients should understand that dogs may not be returned spotless.

Dog Walk Delays

Please note that scheduled dog walk times are estimates. Due to road conditions and unforeseen circumstances, there may be delays of up to +/- 50 minutes. In cases of severe weather, delays may be longer. If the walker is more than three hours late, a 50% refund will be issued for the walk.

Safety / Duty of Care

  1. Tay’s Tails reserves the right to end a dog walk early for safety reasons, such as extreme weather or unruly behaviour.

  2. The client acknowledges the possibility of their dog contracting kennel cough, even if vaccinated, and agrees not to hold Tays Tails responsible.

  3. Flexi/retractable leads will not be used due to health concerns.

  4. If access to the client's home is blocked due to issues like failed locks, the client will still be charged for the service.

  5. Instructions given on the booking form will be followed, but Tay’s Tails cannot be held responsible for complications.

  6. Tay’s Tails may have a family member or spouse accompany them during the service, with prior client consent.

Death of a Pet

In the unfortunate event that your pet passes away while in our care, we will notify you immediately and take your pet to your vet (or ours if yours is out of area) until further arrangements are made. A post-mortem is recommended for clarity, but this is the client’s decision.

Publicity

By using our services, clients consent to having their pets photographed or videotaped for marketing purposes. If you prefer not to have your pet featured, please notify us in writing.

  3. To comply with legal obligations.
